Mismatched outfits 'fashionable'
Clashing colours and patterns are making waves in the fashion world, according to one writer.

Donna Sears who writes the Little Old Woman column for The Leader and the Kalkaskian says that these days, men are probably more on-trend than women, without even trying.

Socks are a great item for a funky mismatched wardrobe, with a myriad of different colours, patterns and lengths available.

Donna cites fashion TV show Project Runway as inspiration for this, where she says that designer contestant Mondo has been very successful on the programme by creating bizarre outfits incorporating stripes, plaids, checks and polka dots - sometimes all in one ensemble.

She adds that fashion magazines are getting in on the mismatch act.

"What you will probably see on that cover is some very young (14-17) skinny minnie striking a pose in a very short striped skirt, lace tights, a plaid blouse (size 2), fake fur vest, and a purse covered with chains."

Taking this advice into account, maybe Pamela Anderson was more on-trend than she appeared when she visited the Tate Gallery Liverpool wearing a thick leopard-print coat, anchor-print tights and thigh high boots.
