The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed how shocked she was at the moving experience of seeing New York's 9/11 Memorial.
Kate, wearing black tights , matching heels and a pink coat, spoke of the "awe" she felt while visiting the famous landmark.
The Duchess was at the site to lay a wreath dedicated to almost 3,000 victims killed in the 2001 tragedy.
The monument, on the site of the former Twin Towers, was the final stop-off on the royal couple's US tour.
Kate spoke of her emotional reaction at touching the victims' names, which have been cut into the bronze railings surrounding pools of water.
She put a white rose bouquet on a section of the memorial, which was apt as the rose is New York's state flower.
The Duke and Duchess each personally signed their names under their handwritten message.
The note spoke of their "sorrowful memory" concerning the victims of September 11 and also expressed their "admiration" for the bravery of those who had rebuilt New York in the wake of the attacks.
