She's known for fronting the pop band Catatonia but last night Cerys Matthews decided to go it alone for a solo show in London.
And the Welsh singer, who also hosts an acclaimed show on BBC 6 Music, made sure all eyes were on her during the performance at the Hippodrome Theatre in Leicester Square.
Matthews started out as a busker and made ends meet by clearing rubbish from beaches before joining Catatonia, whose hits included Mulder and Scully and Road Rage.
Last month she was awarded an MBE by the Prince of Wales for her services to music, despite the fact that her last album contained an anti-royalist song called Storm the Palace.
Her Snow Ball show last night was billed as "a magical Christmas showcase of style and charm" - and it certainly was not lacking in either.
