As part of an initiative which will incorporate over half a million Girl Guides across the country, Midsomer Norton's finest are to help people around the world by collecting 300ft worth of socks.
The 21 girls are to set up collection points for hosiery across the local area, asking people to help them by donating legwear
in new or good condition as part of the Changing the World project for Girlguiding UK.
The guides' leader Sue Bendall told This is Somerset that the girls' drive for socks
has shown their commitment to making the world a better place through their local initiative.
She added: "This is such an important issue and has given them the perfect opportunity to shout out about something that they care about and to show the difference that our members can make to the world around them."
The sister of Robert Baden-Powell, Agness, led the first group of Girl Guides in 1910, three years after her sibling established the Boy Scouts.
