15 months for socking it to worker
A man who shocked a criminal justice worker in Falkirk has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after causing a strange fracas in the town's social work department, the Daily Record has reported.

Darren Wallace, a 22-year-old from Carronshore, pleaded guilty to Falkirk sheriff court after he threw a pair of his socks at the woman and demanded she wash them after he unsuccessfully demanded a glass of water by banging on a glass window inside the council offices.

The bizarre attack culminated in the man dropping his trousers in defiance against the injustice he perceived, although this was swiftly dealt with by the court.

Sheriff Graeme Warner said at the legwear-led trial: "Your behaviour - and I'm sure you do not need me to tell you this - is just utterly unacceptable."

Last week, Tony Gabriele of the Detroit Daily Press launched an inquiry into his disappearing socks, attributing the losses to aliens, the government and self-aware hosiery.
