Hosiery is 'economic marker of dress success'
Despite the hatred for leggings for a number of years, they bounced back onto the scene and have held on ever since, taking a special place in many people's hearts and proving that legwear is more than just a basic fashion, one writer believes.

Sun Ran, writing for Alibaba.com, revealed that it is due to the overall love for legwear at the moment: a trend that just keeps on giving, with several major commentators noting an increase in sales and popularity for the industry.

Sally Kay, president and chief executive officer of the Hosiery Association in the US, was undoubtedly very happy with the news.

She explained: "Traditionally, lipstick sales were indicative of tough economic times because women bought different colours to update their looks cost-effectively, but now they are choosing legwear."

Many stars have jumped on the hosiery design bandwagon in recent years, including Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie.
