Knee-high socks... for furniture?
There are plenty of items which are described as horrors, yet one nomination seems like it will receive across-the-board applause for its hardline stance against one development in the world of hosiery.

That's because Charles & Marie, a company from the US, has decided to fashion knee-high socks into leg warmers for chairs, in turn inventing the "chair personality socks", according to Lisa Petty of NBC Dallas Fort-Worth, who declared the news with a level of cynicism.

For around £13, people can invest in a set of four stylish cosies which are able to transform regular boring seats into a clever conversation piece.

Ms Petty said: "'Oh, my,' your guests will exclaim, 'They look just like those borderline-creepy girls on the American Apparel billboards!'"

One person who was accused of wearing unfashionable socks recently was Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud, who the Daily Mail accused of wearing unforgivable sheer black socks.
