Rwanda refuses to change green football socks
The Rwandan national football team has refused to change their usual attire, despite it clashing with its international opponents.

Rwanda is refusing to change its green sports socks, despite the opposition team Nigeria wearing all-green strips.

Reports from Kigali state that despite pre-match appeals from Nigeria the Rwandan Football Federation refuses to change from its yellow top with blue stripes, blue shorts and green socks.

The Nigerian delegation is now considering whether to wear white socks with their all-green clothing or instead opt for an all-white look.

Chris Green, chairman of the Nigerian Football Federation technical committee, argued: "The Rwandans are the hosts and you would expect them to concede to such a minor request."

Nigeria will take on Rwanda in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on February 29th, in what is expected to be a heated game.
