Katy Perry set to go virtual

Pop star Katy Perry is to get her own official game for mobile devices.

The American singer, who shot to fame with her single I Kissed A Girl in 2008, will be brought to life in digital form by developer Glu Mobile.

While both parties remain tight-lipped about what type of game it will be, it will definitely feature the voice, likeness and personality of the global superstar, seen here looking stylish in black tights , after she agreed a five-year licensing deal.

Glu Mobile is the company behind hit game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, based on socialite Kim Kardashian, which involves players attempting to become celebrities through a series of levels and challenges.

Even though it is free to play, it had made $74.3 million by the end of 2014 through in-app purchases of virtual currency.

Katy Perry's game, which is due for release on iOS and Android devices towards the end of this year, will more than likely follow in the same footsteps.
