The weather did its best to rain on the film industry's premier fashion parade, otherwise known as the Oscars.

The Still Alice star donned a Lagerfield-crafted strapless number, dotted with black accents and draping onto the floor. The 54-year-old red-head's white Chanel gown was complemented by a bun hair-do.
Moore, who played a character suffering with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, was spared the rain's worst ravages as organisers erected a canopy to protect the stars.
Elsewhere elegant whites, glittering silvers, beads and pearls were all the rage on the Tinseltown red carpet.
Boyhood actress Patricia Arquette, crowned best supporting actress, wore a gown from Rosetta Getty. She also squeezed into a tight black skirt and white bodice, while best actress nominee Marion Cotillard's gown was a Dior polka dot creation.
