A fashion expert has congratulated Russell Brand on his choice of hosiery during 2008, congratulating him on his daring wares to match his audacious comedy style.
Russell's style won him the "Compellingly Ludicrous Award" from columnist Lisa Armstrong, who named him first in the list of trends which caught the eye of roving fashionistas last year, she said in a report for the Times.
Ms Armstrong said his style of legwear
gave a universal look, adding: "These spawned an entire revival in the genre. For men as well as women. He who dares leaves nothing to the imagination. In the spirit of openness, maybe that's a good thing."
Andrew Sachs, the target of a radio joke by Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross which caused uproar last year, has recently fallen on his feet after being cast in a part for Coronation Street.
