Socks and tights fans take note: the credit crunch may have changed your opinion on investing on your beloved legwear.
However, it is not for the worst as people are just thinking in the long-term when they buy their leggings and stockings
over the next few months, a leading fashion magazine columnist has said.
Shelly Vella of Cosmopolitan said that "rather than the fastest, disposable, cheap fashion, people are spending a little bit more on classic pieces, less throw away, better quality that has more longevity".
specialist added that modern classics which can be updated, such as opaque tights, are a great idea and one she feels her readers will "really buy into".
According to a recent study by Grazia Magazine, 83 per cent of people are still shopping for clothes despite 71 per cent being intimidated by the credit crunch, with little treats such as tights
helping them feel better in the tough economic time.
