Special socks have been developed to lead the fight against problems caused by diabetes, it has been announced.
The Istanbul Teaching Hospital in Turkey revealed its new development this week: hosiery akin to toe socks
which stops the threat of blood poisoning caused by foot infections, the Daily Mail reported.
Commenting on the technology, the newspaper continued: "They say many infections get into the deep tissues of the foot through cracks and splits. The space between the toes is vulnerable to cracking, as the skin is much thinner."
Last week, charity Diabetes UK celebrated its 75th anniversary after being founded on January 10th 1934 by Time Machine novelist HG Wells and Dr RD Lawrence, both of whom suffered from the condition.
