Curse of missing socks cost Brits £240 per year
Foot wear lost in the laundry cost households a massive £240 per year, according to new findings.

Research from laundry specialists Dr Beckman found that missing socks result in unnecessary expense for households and mean that many are forced to wear odd socks.

Most likely to affect male members of the household, it is not just everyday items that go missing, with expensive ski socks, football socks and walking socks also prone to disappearing in the wash.

It was also found that northern men are more likely to be victim of the vanishing footwear and black socks are the most likely to go missing, with young men in the 14-25 age bracket confessing to donning odd socks every week.

This comes after sport expert Matt Dellandrea told the Toronto Sun that during winter, people should ditch cheap footwear in favour of good quality polyester, polypropylene or merino wool.
