Ballet thriller Black Swan is the second most nominated film at the BAFTAs after The King's Speech after scooping a win at the Golden Globe Awards.
Natalie Portman donned ballet tights
for her challenging role as mentally unstable prima ballerina in the film and was rewarded with the Best Actress in a drama title at the much-hyped US awards show.
The actress has attracted much critical acclaim for her part in the film after having lost a substantial amount of weight to get into character and really dedicate herself to the part.
Focusing on the brutal world of ballet, the film follows the story of ballerina Nina who is given the part in the New York Ballet Company's production of Swan Lake, for which she must depict the part of the innocent and pure White Swan, but also the sensual Black Swan.
Overprotected by her mother, self harming and suffering from an eating disorder Nina descends from her already shaky mental state into complete madness.
