The stylish star showed she can do casual as well as red carpet glamour and was dressed completely in shades of grey from the waist down in a knee-length skirt, grey opaque tights and brogue-style shoes.
However, she ensured that her top half was clad in brighter colours, wearing a red cardigan over her grey top and draping a pale pink pashmina over her shoulders to protect her from the cold.
The Hitchcock actress wore her cropped blonde hair loose and kept her accessories minimal as she posed with director Stephen Daldry, who was keeping warm in a black overcoat and patterned men's scarf.
Mirren was hosting the screening of the 1934 French film as part of the BFI's Screen Epiphanies series. Daldry interviewed her ahead of the screening.
