Kids 'should pair patterned and plain clothes'
Parents whose kids want to embrace the trend for patterned legwear should be careful what clothes their offspring team them with, advises one expert.

Making her comments to the Associated Press, Andrea Harmon, director of colour and concept at The Children's Place, says that a patterned item, such as tights or leggings, should be matched with solid pieces, perhaps in shades which would not normally be viewed as complementary.

She suggests that by wearing patterned clothes children can express their inner emotions and let their imaginations run riot.

Printed leggings and patterned socks are one way to inject some life into an ensemble, without going overboard, adds Pilar Guzman, editor-in-chief of Cookie magazine

"Be guided by good taste, not rules," the style-savvy commentator concludes.

Meanwhile, youngsters at Thurrock School in Basildon raised £115 for St Luke's Hospice by donning patterned socks and bright legwear on a special crazy socks day, reports the Echo.
