One hosiery hoarder has found an innovative use for her tired tights; she has reinvented them as a glamorous ball dress.
According to the Halifax Evening Courier, 18-year-old art student Laura Twaites used old legwear
, paint and textile embellishments to create an unusual "ethereal" gown as part of her A-Level course.
Her ensemble is inspired by nature and organic
The dress, along with her fellow students' creations, is currently on display at the Tantalizing Textiles exhibition at Variegations Textile Art Centre in Sowerby Bridge.
Meanwhile, Brit jewellery designer Maria Lau incorporates old flesh-coloured tights
into her creations, mixing the hosiery
with semi-precious stones and other embellishments to create chunky necklaces, headbands and bracelets, reports online resource Today's Top Trend
Her collection is named A Skin Less Ordinary and was on display during Coutts Jewellery Week in June.
