Gloucester Hat Festival prepares for first event
Next week the weird and wonderful world of millinery is to be celebrated as part of the first annual homage to headwear.

The Gloucester Hat Festival is preparing to kick off and will be the only event of its kind in a UK city this summer.

Celebrating the very best of design, it hopes to bring people of all ages and cultures together for a whole weekend of fun and discovery, The Gloucester Echo reports.

The hard work of school children and community groups will culminate in a Mad Hatter's Tea Party, where everyone can show off their creations.

As well as youngsters designing their own headgear, professional milliners and budding young designers will be showcasing their standout hats.

The festival will kick off with a parade through Gloucester on Friday 13th July, with workshops and exhibitions popping up across the city over the course of the weekend.
