Mad hatters head to Oxford exhibition

Published: 03rd July 2012

Fans of Alice and Wonderland are invited to join in with a new exhibition at Oxford's Story Museum.

Visitors are encouraged to dress the part with top hats and pocket watches, according the Oxford Mail, as the staff pay tribute to local author Lewis Carroll.

The exhibition is entitled Tea with Alice and will run until September 16th, bringing together work from more than 20 artists around the world, all keen to put their own twist on his classic tales and unforgettable characters.

Speaking with the newspaper, museum researcher Sophie Smith explained: "The exhibition explores ways that the Alice stories translate across the world.

"Visitors can explore different editions in the 'Read Me' Room, vote for their favourite illustration in the 'Pick Me' space and have fun with hats and word games at the Mad Tea Party," she said.
