Music festivals are one of the few occasions where it is acceptable to wear brightly coloured knee-high socks under wellies, it has been claimed.
The Independent notes that the "modern festival-goer" may be allowed to ditch their inhibitions but cannot be permitted to lose their sense of style.
However, despite such firm fashion advice, the newspaper suggested that attendees can enjoy some brightly coloured legwear
, perhaps patterned socks
"Leggings have had their day in the real world, but they are useful at a festival and this is one of the few occasions when you can get away with coloured knee socks under wellies," it added.
Recently, the Guardian reported that, despite the mud, British good cheer often shows itself through bright splashes of colour at festivals.
Hardley Freeman argued that festival-goers sometimes dress up their outfits using bright and patterned socks
rather than black socks.
