Socks aid the transition to summer wardrobe
A pair of trendy socks or tights can help fashion-conscious females make the transition from their winter wardrobe to their summer one, according to a commentator.

Writing for online fashion resource Street Brand, Amy Cole notes that a few days of sun can tempt women into their summer clothes but often the UK's "ever-changing" weather means they need to take measures to stay warm if it turns chilly.

Ms Cole suggests investing in a pair of bright tights that will "look amazing and keep your legs from turning blue".

She adds that for a more "radical" look knee-high socks pushed to ankle length and teamed with sandals are the "height of fashion".

A recent article in the Independent claimed that colourful or patterned socks could come in handy at this summer's festivals.

It added that a festival is one of the few occasions where stylish females can get away with pairing knee-high socks and wellies.
