Residents and visitors to Elloughton were greeted by some unusual looking residents this weekend, as part of the annual village scarecrow festival.
More than 60 straw-stuffed mannequins lined the roadside to help raise money for charity and bring the community together.
Villagers of Elloughton and Brough were out in force, according to the Hull Daily Mail, to celebrate the Olympic-themed event in light of this year's competition.
The scarecrows included a horse and rider and an animated Torvill and Dean.
But for anyone looking to recreate these figures, it seems that old tights
are the best place to start.
Festival organiser Daphne Alexander told the newspaper: "You use two pairs of tights, one for the body and one for the head and arms.
"Once you get started it's not that bad. You just have to raid somebody's tights drawer and go for it."
