Comic Relief hits school scene
Comic Relief is reaching a number of offices, workplaces and factories across the country to unite in raising money for people in need, with one school in Somerset using socks to raise smiles.

The Yeovil Express highlighted the good work of Milford Infants' School in town, which is drumming up money today through the harnessing of hosiery and the sporting of socks that are a little different to the norm, raising smiles and cash along the way.

It will be accompanied by a range of activities to further boost the coffers of Comic Relief.

The headteacher, Wendy Chant, said the school was fully behind the cause, which it rated as "valuable" in today's society.

Comic Relief begins in earnest tonight, with all kinds of special programmes lined up, including the Celebrity Apprentice and a new episode of the Royle Family.
