Tights continue to be a big part of the fashion scene at the moment - so much so that it has made the legwear industry as good as recession-proof, according to an Australian company.
Speaking to the Herald Sun in the island nation, Marlene Smillie of the Melbourne-based Ambra Corporation said the use of stockings
is particularly popular as it is a cheap and reusable accessory for most outfits, powering the market.
The expert continued: "Not only do we see hosiery as being a little bit recession-proof, it's actually a little bit of a trend.
"Everyone knows you put on a pair of black opaques and you really feel chic."
Ms Smillie added that coloured, printed and tartan tights
are expected to rise in popularity over the coming months.
