Britain's largest long johns discovered
Come colder weather long johns are a favourite staple piece of clothing to keep men warm.

However, while it may be common to find long johns in male underwear drawers, it is unlikely they will be five foot in length.

This is the size of what is believed to be one of the largest pairs of long johns ever discovered and belonged to Londoner Frederick Kempster.

Frederick became known as the tallest ever Englishman, known as The English Giant, and was alive around the turn of the 20th century.

While there has been some debate over his height it is believed that he was at least seven foot 11inches tall, according to historians and photographs.

The 27-stone Londoner reportedly had a huge growth spurt at the age of 15 and went on to tour Europe with circus troupes.

His huge pair of long johns were discovered by John Jardine of Lancashire, who was related to one of Frederick's close friends.
