Staff at restaurant chain Tampopo are showing their support of Manchester's Nobel Peace Prize-winning charity Mines Advisory Group (MAG).
Eating Out magazine reports that staff at the pan Asian restaurant will be taking part in MAG's Safe Socks
Day on April 4th by sporting specialist footwear to raise awareness of the issue.
Staff across all seven Tampopo restaurants will also be offering free main meals to any diners who come in wearing a pair of the red MAG socks.
"We're delighted to be supporting MAG and helping to raise awareness of its lifesaving work clearing landmines in some of the world's poorest countries," commented restaurant co-founder David Fox.
MAG is planning a week of action from March 28th for its Clear Landmines Now campaign. It culminates in Safe Socks Day, which also coincides with the UN's International Day of Mine Awareness.
