Football socks 'can help England win World Cup'
Englands chances of winning this years football World Cup in South Africa could may not just on the state of Wayne Rooney, but also on a pair of sports socks.

The national team's football socks that the England team players pull on will have some pretty advanced material in them, designed to give the wearer the winning edge, claims the Times.

Rooney will be donning a pair of socks which have a seamless, mesh construction around the upper-ankle area to stop them creasing and wrinkling when he runs, passes or shoots, according to the paper.

Of course, most English fans will be hoping that their team's foot care is up to scratch with broken metatarsals out of the headlines this year.

England's first match is against the USA on June 12th, when they will have to work those special socks off to start with a good result.
