Jessica Biel joined a host of celebrities swapping the traditional red carpet garb for some punk inspired designs at the Punk: 'Chaos to couture' Benefit Gala on Monday.
Biel opted for a long, elegant, black, meshed Giambattista Valli dress, which she punked up with some webbed black tights.
The actress was also spotted sporting a false septum piercing at the Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art event in New York.
The gala event marked the start of an exhibition to celebrate punk fashion's influence on high couture.
The 31-year-old's attempt at combining the two contrasting styles was certainly more elegant than some other guests, notably Madonna's quirky 'shock and awe' approach.
Despite this some punk icons turned down an invitation to the event, saying that the high fashion adoption of punk went against the basic principals of the 1970s subculture.
Biel recently appeared at the London premiere for her latest film, the indie thriller Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes.
