Socks cheer up young cancer patient

Pupils at a primary school in the US have delivered 300 silly socks to a classmate suffering from liver cancer.

Chance Storz, who has not been able to attend Moody Elementary school in White Hall, Arkansas, since the start of March, received the surprise gift at Arkansas Children's Hospital on Monday.

"Chance's chemotherapy causes nerve damage. That's one of the things they recommend is to keep socks on your feet and keep them good and warm, and it helps with some of the nerve pain," Chance's mother, Billie Storz, told local news provider THV11.

She added that with all the snazzy socks, Chance would be able to keep his feet warm for a very long time.

This act of kindness may inspire others in the UK to follow the lead of pupils in the US and make some silly socks to help cheer up local children who are hospitalised.
