Dita opts for lingerie-inspired dress

Dita opts for lingerie-inspired dress

Dita Von Teese has channelled her creativity into a new fashion collection which celebrated it's West Coast launch in a Californian Bloomingdale's store over the weekend.

The world renowned model attended her clothing launch in a typically Dita ensemble, featuring a gothic black lace dress with sheer corset detailing.

Despite wearing the lingerie-inspired dress, Dita chose to go bare legged to the event - instead of wearing matching hold up stocking s like some of the models.

Dita revealed that she was inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood as it evokes her passion for vintage.

She says that her line oozes beauty, femininity and everyday luxury through her retro style.

The rest of Dita's ensemble at the launch also oozed vintage glamour, from her wavy hair to her signature red lipstick and black beauty spot. She completed her look with some peep toe heels and statement diamond earrings.

She also visited a floral tribute to the fallen of the First World War, which saw her walk through a replica trench, complete with sandbags and floral mud designs and metal garden accessory rats.

Other familiar faces included Piers Morgan, Michael McIntyre, Rowan Atkinson, Susanna Reid, Jennifer Saunders and Gaby Roslin.

Village uses socks as bunting

Village uses socks as bunting

Everyone seems to end up with a bag full of odd socks that have got caught up with the rest of the linen in the wash.

But a village fete is seeking to put unwanted single socks to good use this year by using them as decorative bunting.

The Suffolk village of Stansfield, which has just 250 residents, has been cutting its costs by using novelty bunting for its annual fete since 2009 when underpants and knickers were used to adorn the village.

Since then unwanted CDs and DVDs as well as photos of local homes have been used as bunting but when this year's fete goes ahead on July 19 it will be the turn of the humble sock.

Village hall treasurer Fay Grindley said the novelty bunting had now become a tradition.

She added that they were now appealing for people to hand over their collection of odd socks - as long as they have been washed.
