British comedian James Corden is in line for a big US television award only weeks after launching his chat show there.
The 36-year-old comic helped win over his American new audience as early as the second show - when he and friend David Beckham stripped down to their boxer shorts for a hilarious underwear advert spoof .
Corden's programme The Late Late Show is up against Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, and fellow Britons Graham Norton and Last Week Tonight's John Oliver on the Best Talk Show shortlist.
The 2015 Critics Choice Television Awards have nominated Corden only six weeks after he replaced Craig Ferguson.
Corden originally expressed concern about conquering the US market as a relative unknown. But his inaugural show was critically acclaimed.
