But on Thursday night the ex-EastEnders star rolled back the years, wearing a fitted blue dress with black tights and shining black high heels. These were complemented by a silver bracelet and matching necklace plus tiny black bag.
Babs was ambushed by fans on the press night publicising Just Jim Dale's show at London's Vaudeville Theatre in support of her former Carry On colleague.
They asked the Peggy Mitchell actress to sign photographs and other items as she approached the theatre's entrance.
Windsor-mania could be still yet to reach its greatest heights, however. She in currently discussing plans with BBC officials to get a biopic of her colourful life story made.
