Donald Trump, New York Citys most famous real estate mogul and star of the US version of the Apprentice, is surviving on, among other items, socks.
Economy expert Daniel Pimlott said that Mr Trump - who told the Financial Times that he didn't know how many buildings he owned - was currently relying on the sales of hosiery
and other Trump-branded items to see him through the slump in the property market.
The saviour socks
are part of the defence against a number of struggling projects, most notably Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, which will be the tallest building to be built in North America since the Sears Tower in 1974.
Following the deaths of actress Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, Donald Trump showed his generous nature by providing Ms Hudson with a safe house.
