The popularity of the librarian look in magazines such as Elle and Nylon has brought about a legwear renaissance, it has been said.
Vaniglia Baily of the Ontarion said that although there was so much choice for the buyer in terms of coloured and patterned tights, less adventurous shades were more attractive, even if the range could provide a "circus for your legs".
Ms Baily continued: "Tone down colours with blacks, greys and deep navy blues. Layer with a long cardigan sweater but make sure they are the length of your dress or a little longer. Don't be sloppy."
One star not subscribing to any notion of fashionable tights
this month is Russell Crowe, who will not be donning the trademark tights
of Robin Hood in Sir Ridley Scott's new adaptation of Nottingham's most famous legend.
