Psy needs some socks for UK winter

Psy needs some socks for UK winter

Psy could do with buying some warm socks ahead of his next visit to the UK.

Now that Korean rap star Psy is a celebrity in the UK he may have to invest in some suitable attire for when he visits our shores.

The Gangnam Style singer arrived in London today (Wednesday November 7th) but rather than dressing for a chilly November day he chose to forgo socks and instead flash his bare ankles in some cropped jeans and leopard print trainers.

However, he may have regretted doing without warm legwear as he travelled up to Oxford to appear at the students' union.

The rapper is known for his bold bright clothing and there are a variety of socks available which could complement his wardrobe and also keep his toes warm.

Our range of striped socks and argyle socks are perfect for people who like their clothes to reflect their outgoing personalities. There's even some socks with musical notes on which would be perfect for the chart-topper.

Or, if Psy really suffers with chilly feet today, he may wish to invest in a pair of Heat Holders.

X Factor's Ella models black tights

X Factor's Ella models black tights

X Factor star Ella wowed in black tights at the recent Cosmopolitan Awards.

X Factor star Ella Henderson has once again wowed at a showbiz event.

Just days after impressing at the Skyfall premiere with a little black dress, she showed that she looks just as good in white at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.

But while her dress may have been dramatically different, there was one similarity between the two outfits: Ella's trusty black tights.

The thick legwear added an edgy vibe to Ella's sweet white lace dress and stopped the ensemble looking too princessy. Her chunky black shoes with metallic detailing and chunky silver necklace also added a rocky edge to the outfit.

The look was completed with some bold red nail varnish while Ella's long locks were left tumbling down her shoulders.

Other celebs at the event included Kelly Osborne, Ella's X Factor mentor Tulisa, Jessica Ennis and Louise Redknapp.

Are socks with sandals on trend?

Are socks with sandals on trend?

Vivienne Westwood models quirky socks and sandals at Harpers Bazaar event last week.

There is one fashion crime which almost always tops the list of sartorial misdemeanours, however, things may be about to change.

Fashionista Vivienne Westwood was spotted at the Harpers Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards wearing socks and sandals; a look normally reserved for middle aged men abroad.

However, when teamed with the rest of Vivienne's quirky ensemble, her legwear managed to look stylish, and adding some stylish patterned socks to an ensemble is one way to ensure you stay warm!

And it's not just Westwood who has been spotted rocking socks and sandals, with the footwear making an appearance on the catwalk at Bottega Veneta and Prada.

If you fancy stealing Viv's style for yourself then there are some golden rules to follow. Firstly, the sandals must be chunky and very on trend so that people know you are making a style statement rather than a faux pas.

Secondly, not just any old socks will do. Knee high socks are a good choice, as are delicate lacy ankle socks and retro argyle socks.

Keep warm in party dress and tights

Keep warm in party dress and tights

Patterned tights can make a black party dress stand out.

With the festive party season almost upon us many women will be thinking about what dress to wear to the office Christmas party or celebrations with friends.

However, they are then faced with the question of whether to choose style, and shiver away in a flimsy dress, or comfort, and opt for something a bit more practical.

But, with the vast array of tights and other hosiery on offer at the moment, women can have the best of both worlds and team their party dresses with legwear which not only keeps their pins warm, but enhances the appearance of their outfit.

For example, if you plan to wear a traditional LBD then why not team it with some patterned or coloured tights for a look which will mean you stand out from the other people wearing all black.

Alternatively, black tights can make a sparkly ensemble, like that worn by Katie Cassidy at the TV Guide Magazine's 2012 Hot List Party in California this week, more suitable for the UK winter weather. Just add a black wrap too to keep your shoulders warm and you are good to go!
