No socks for 1D's Louis

No socks for 1D's Louis

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson once again chose to forgo socks on the red carpet as he attended the American Music Awards in LA over the weekend.

Louis often opts not to wear socks, which in the past has led his bandmates to complain about his smelly feet.

The singer flashed his bare ankles in some black rolled up trousers and grey suede brogues, completing the ensemble with a grey t-shirt and black blazer.

His fellow 1D members all modelled various shades of grey and black too, with Zayn Malik opting for a light grey double breasted jacket over a polo neck and Liam Payne choosing a patterned shirt and cosy overcoat.

Harry Styles opted for an all-black ensemble finished off with a grey flower in his buttonhole, while Niall Horan looked decidedly casual in a grey t-shirt, bomber jacket and Nike trainers.

As well as strutting their stuff on the red carpet, the boys took to the stage to pick up a number of awards on the night, including the prize for Best Pop/Rock Album and Favourite Band.

Helle in tights at Rome screening

Helle in tights at Rome screening

It may be some 2,000 km away from her native Denmark, but actress Helle Fagralid felt that the Roman air was cold enough for tights as she pulled on a sheer black pair for the screening of Sorrow and Joy (Sorg og Glaede) at the Rome International Film Festival.

The 37-year-old, who will be best known to UK audiences for her role in the hit Danish detective drama The Killing, combined the sheer tights with an elegant cream silk dress with black lace overlay.

She accessorised with some simple black heels, a black clutch bag and a bangle-style bracelet. Her blonde hair was curled and pulled back into an elegant up-do.

She appeared on the red carpet alongside fellow cast members Jakob Cedergren, Maja Dybboe and Nicolas Bro, along with director Nils Malmros, for the first screening on Sorrow and Joy.
