Shopping for new clothes is probably not at the top of a prime minister's list of priorities.
Is that, however, an excuse to go on national television in a pair of socks
with a gaping hole in them?
David Cameron appeared on ITV's This Morning wearing a pair of classic black mens socks
that looked a little worse for wear.
So large was the hole that attentive viewers were able to catch a glimpse as the prime minister spoke to presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
They asked Mr Cameron about the leaked letter from Dr Liam Fox regarding cuts to the defence budget.
"I would never betray our armed forces. I think every day of what they're doing in Afghanistan," he answered.
His comments should come as a morale boost to troops serving in the country, many of whom have recently been receiving socks sent to them from campaigners and fundraisers.Try Seamless Toe Socks...Discover the True Benefit of the Comfortable, Flat Seam
