Barbie has undergone an edgy and modern makeover which has sparked a controversial reaction from parents.
The iconic doll has been given a bright pink bob hairstyle, tattoos, platform silver heels and leopard print leggings
However, while this look may be popular with celebrities, parents have criticised the limited edition Barbie from Italian-based, Japanese-inspired brand Tokidoki for suggesting that tattoos are a good idea.
Many have argued that the brand should not be endorsing body art, as this sets a bad example for children and young people.
However, some parents have praised the new-look Barbie for portraying a more realistic and contemporary view of female fashion and personal style.
The Tokidoki Manga-style doll is not the first Barbie to have tattoos. The Butterfly Art Barbie came with a selection of transfer tattoos but was withdrawn in 1999 due to complaints.
