Longleat Safari and Adventure Park are asking people to consider not only their own warmth during the winter months, but also that of animals.
Zookeepers are asking people to donate socks
for their chipmunks to help them stay warm, sleep in and store food, Westbury People reports.
Longleat keeper Darren Beasley said: "As well as to snuggle up inside, the chipmunks also use the socks as places to store their food.
"It's difficult to think of many other uses for odd socks and donating them to our chipmunks would definitely mean they were going to a good home."
Staff are searching for any type of socks, matching, single or odd, so long as they don't have holes in.
All socks can be donated directly to the Longleat Safari and Adventure Park and more information about the site and the project can be found on its official website.
