Leg wear fans in China can soon visit some of the world's most famous garments as part of a new museum.
The Chan Socks Museum, which will open to the public in November, will display thousands of socks
collected from around the world, accompanied by an in-depth history of the development of this clothing type, China Daily reports.
Owner Zhu Cheng said that "the 3,000-square-metre museum will combine exhibitions with research, education and entertainment", with celebrity socks belonging to Michael Jackson and those worn by China's first astronaut.
As well as a wide variety of standard socks, he added that the centre would exhibit specially-made socks, which are fireproof, evaporate sweat and act as air-conditioners, using exciting new technology.
Mr Cheng went on to discuss how socks have evolved over the centuries and have now "become an important part of fashion" and an extension of the wearer's personal style.
