Sock-like shoes take running world by storm
One of Vibram's oft-overlooked offerings for feet around the world has been almost universally praised by all who have dabbled in its uses.

The FiveFingers model, which is essentially a well-fitted pair of toe socks with a solid sole to fit the shoe around the foot, has gone down a storm with runners around the world as it is able to mimic the sensation of travelling barefoot.

It seems to be a major success due to the way it improves the way a person runs, with the glorified socks forcing people to land on the middle of the foot and not the heel, which many curved trainers are designed to do.

The offering by Vibram is selling out fast from its US-based shop, with supplies still limited to the UK, though this may change in the near future.

Merrell, one of the US' leading shoe manufacturers, currently has a partnership with Vibram to deliver around 75 per cent of its shoes with soles to promote better walking and increased comfort for its buyers.
