Dame Vivienne Westwood dons legwear for political show

Published: 21st September 2012

Dame Vivienne Westwood is one of fashion's most eccentric figures and not afraid to be controversial when it comes to showcasing her latest catwalk collections.

For her recent London Fashion Week show, she created pro-Julian Assange t-shirts for her guests on the front row to wear, which featured a picture of herself with the text "I'm Julian Assange" written next to it.

She also sought to raise awareness of environmental issues, wearing a 'Climate Revolution' t-shirt while walking down the runway.

Dame Westwood accessorised it with a pair of shorts, nude tights with tiny spots on and a pair of grey ankle socks with snakeskin platform heels.

Always keen to make a statement, she also wore a black, beaded hat and drew a black moustache and fake monocle on.

Esteemed guests at the show included Alice Dellal and Charlotte Free, who turned out to see what manifestos the show would display.
