Every decade has its own must-have trends and while knee-length skirts and straight legged jeans might have been popular in the 90s, they are no longer wardrobe staples.
Instead it seems that skinny jeans, leggings
and blazers are some of the most popular fashion items for women today, according to a new survey.
F&F at Tesco's poll found that nude tights, ballet pumps and maxi dresses are now modern classics.
Many of these items are thanks to style icons such as Kate Middleton, who helped to bring back timeless items such as cardigans and simple white blouses.
Other clothes which were rated highly include little black dresses, black trousers, pencil skirts and black court shoes, all of which are common in British wardrobes.
A spokesman for the supermarket brand commented that "good-quality staple items can really help to save costs when it comes to a new season or trend".
