Paralympian Hannah Cockroft praises 'lucky socks'
Paralympic athlete Hannah Cockroft has revealed that her sporting success was helped by wearing lucky clothing.

The Team GB star won gold in the T34 200 metres at the Olympic Stadium last week and told Metro afterwards: "I've got my Wonder Woman underwear on and my lucky socks."

She revealed that the socks had fish on, a creature she is scared of.

Cockroft said they were bought by a friend of hers who joked "if you wear them you're racing away from your feet", which led the star to admit "it must work because I always win when I wear them".

The 20-year-old helped kick-start GB's athletics medal haul by winning the first gold of the Paralympic track and field competition with victory in the 100m.

She also became the first Paralympic athlete to break a world record in the Olympic Stadium, reaching 18:05 seconds in the 100m race.
