Fusion Festival fishnets for Amelia

Amelia Lily pulled on a pair of fishnet tights as she performed at the Fusion Festival in Birmingham over the weekend.

The singer took to the stage at Cofton Park on Saturday in a black leather jacket, a red and black playsuit and a pair of black boots to go with the fishnet tights.

The 18-year-old has recently delayed the release of her debut album, saying that she needed more time to record in order to make it "perfect".

The former X-Factor finalist has already released three singles from the album, "You Bring Me Joy", "Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)" and "Party Over". The record is expected to be called "Be A Fighter".

A fourth single, "Truth or Dare" is expected to be officialy released in October, a week before the main album.

Man claims to own oldest socks

Man claims to own oldest socks

A Gloucestershire man claims that he owns the oldest pair of socks in Britain.

Frank Tunbridge, 55, from Podsmead, Gloucester told the Metro that he has been wearing a pair of nylon wool mix socks for 25 years.

He claims that despite wearing the socks every week for the past quarter of a century he has only just noticed the first holes starting to appear.

"The funny thing is that I bought another pair of the same socks at the time and they didn't last anywhere near as long as this pair. I don't know why," he said.

Mr Tunbridge said he has walked hundreds of miles in the socks pursuing his hobby as a big cat tracker.

They have taken him right across the country as he records suspected sightings of panthers and other big cats.

"My wife washes them and I wear them when I am looking for big cats, summer or winter. They are very comfortable," he added.

Did Pascale miss a tight call?

Did Pascale miss a tight call?

Celebrity chef Lorraine Pascale perhaps regretted not pulling on a pair of tights at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in London on Tuesday.

Pascale, who pulled on a shimmering black dress for the event, ditched her pair of black high heels as she posed along Jason Atherton, winner of the Chef awards.

Perhaps Atherton was glad that the five foot ten Pascale had decided to pull off her shoes at that particular moment as she towered over the Sheffield-born chef.

A pair of tights might have made the event more comfortable for Pascale, and who knows she may follow that advice at next year's awards?

However Pascale and her missing tights weren't the only highlights at the star studded awards, with the likes of Michael Douglas, the Arctic Monkeys and Noel Gallagher all walking away with exclusive GQ gongs at the end of the night.

1D's Louis' football nightmare

1D's Louis' football nightmare

Louis Tomlinson swapped the microphone for a pair of football socks this weekend as he turned out for the Stiliyan Petrov charity match at Parkhead on Sunday.

Tomlinson pulled on Celtic's famous white and green hooped kit as part of a Celtic XI that took on a team handpicked by Petrov.

However Tomlinson, who recently signed for hometown club Doncaster Rovers, lasted a little over 20 minutes on the pitch before limping off with a knock.

The 21-year-old came off worse for wear following a robust challenge by Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Less than two minutes after the challenge was made the One Direction singer was on the sidelines vomiting over the Celtic Park technical area.

The tackle sparked a fierce tirade of abuse aimed at the England striker from One Direction fans on Twitter, with some 'Directioners' going as far to make death threats against Agbonlahor.

Others took to the social networking site to question whether Tomlinson had the stomach to cope with life as a professional footballer.

Petrov XI went on to win the game 5-3 with former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov netting a hat-trick.

Socks and wellies see out Bestival

The festival season may be coming to an end in Britain, but this year's hottest trend has not started to let up.

Once more, many revellers have been spotted sporting a pair of socks underneath their wellies, this time at Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

The festival has had a set fancy dress theme since 2006, following an attempt to set a world record for the most people in fancy dress at one event in 2005.

This year the theme was 'HMS Bestival' which was followed by this pictured trio, who alongside the socks and wellies combo decided to sport nautical headwear as well. They also added one of the year's biggest comeback garments, by strapping bumbags around their waists.

Elton John was the main headline attraction for the three-day festival, with the singer closing out proceedings on Sunday night.

Other big names that took to the Robin Hill Country Park stage included Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim, Franz Ferdinand and Jessie Ware.
