Louis Tomlinson swapped the microphone for a pair of football socks this weekend as he turned out for the Stiliyan Petrov charity match at Parkhead on Sunday.
Tomlinson pulled on Celtic's famous white and green hooped kit as part of a Celtic XI that took on a team handpicked by Petrov.
However Tomlinson, who recently signed for hometown club Doncaster Rovers, lasted a little over 20 minutes on the pitch before limping off with a knock.
The 21-year-old came off worse for wear following a robust challenge by Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Less than two minutes after the challenge was made the One Direction singer was on the sidelines vomiting over the Celtic Park technical area.
The tackle sparked a fierce tirade of abuse aimed at the England striker from One Direction fans on Twitter, with some 'Directioners' going as far to make death threats against Agbonlahor.
Others took to the social networking site to question whether Tomlinson had the stomach to cope with life as a professional footballer.
Petrov XI went on to win the game 5-3 with former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov netting a hat-trick.
