Wonderful alpaca has the ability to be light, but warm, making it a quite ‘rarified’ choice for socks, not least because of the value of the silky, versatile wool, due to its relative scarcity and positive virtues. It is light, warm, water repelling and highly breathable, as well as one of the stronger wool fibres – ideal for wearing with walking boots.

The 'cuff-less' ribbed legs make for a more comfortable wearing experience, with an elastic-free Comfort Cuff, while Smooth Linked Toes for smooth seams cut down on the chances of toe blisters. I find the Cushioning welcome. I bought the normal version at first, and wore them so much that I wore out the heels. I am so glad that the Cushioning will mean I can wear my favourite socks again.
I bought 2 pairs of these socks a while ago and they are great BUT the pair I received were dreadful, the legs were an inch shorter than previous pairs, the foot part was the same and the width was tight, they looked as though they had been washed and had shrunk. I sent them back. .

Not really what I asked for, in any case they were very tight around the calf. I was looking for a more 'chunky' (sea boot ) style to wear inside my heavy walking boots. I have a long foot and take a size 11 shoe -usually I need socks up to size 15 to allow for shrinkage.
