Tuntsa is a beautiful wilderness park located in the most eastern part of Lapland, where dry, cold air and cutting continental winds lower temperatures and make life challenging all year round. Continental cold air from the east blows in and brings very dry and cold air. Inspired by this, calf-high UpHill Sport “Tuntsa” Snow Sports M4 Socks combat hard, cold conditions for trekking, hiking and snow sports with a special mixed yarn structure of merino wool and polypropylene.
Mixing polypropylene with merino wool’s natural thermal abilities increases moisture absorption, providing the perfect combination of warmth, moisture control, and breathability for a level 4 thermal sock with only a medium thickness. A Merino terry loop sole, a fitted heel and a seamless toe provides softness, cushioning, warmth and comfort. The non-cushioned leg shaft is part-ribbed and elasticated to ensure a good fit that stays in place. Uphill Sport merino wool is always mulesing free, addling warmth and breathability without cruel practices on the sheep.
Bought these for cycling rather than skiing as conventional socks were leaving me with cold feet on long rides. These are warm.
