Everything You Need to Know about Spider-Man: No Way Home
Posted by SOCKSHOP
Christmas is nearly here and Marvel Studios are giving us one of the most eagerly anticipated movies in ages as an early present, Spider-Man: No Way Home is out in cinemas on the 15th of December.
Here at SOCKSHOP, we cannot wait for the latest instalment of the Tom Holland Spiderman story and the continuation of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Don’t forget we have plenty of Marvel themed and cartoon socks to choose from if you want to get in the mood early or buy a present for one of the superheroes in your life!
Is this the last Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The biggest rumour that has been swirling around this movie since it was announced is that this could be the closing chapter for Spider-Man’s role in the MCU.
The movie was nearly not made at all, as discussions between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures stalled even after the success of the previous film Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sony Pictures own the rights to Spiderman from a deal made with Marvel in the 1990s.
It was Tom Holland himself that brought the two huge studios back to the table to talk, and many insiders believe that this Spider-Man movie will be the last in the series and Tom Holland’s version of the web-slinger will only be allowed one more small appearance in a Marvel-made film after this one. This gives us another reason to make the trip to the cinema to see Spidey in his final headlining movie.
Is there a Way Home for Spider-Man?
The title of this film gives us a clue about the main storyline. At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Spider-Man’s secret identity was revealed and the whole world found out that Peter Parker was Spider-Man.
In this film, Peter tries to get Doctor Strange (played by the always-excellent Benedict Cumberbatch) to help turn back time so no one knows his true identity. If you have been watching the Marvel movies so far, you may already know that you cannot change a timeline without some serious consequences.

When it comes to Marvel/Sony Spider-Man films we can usually rely on Tom Holland to spill some of the beans and a couple of spoilers in the run-up to the release date, but he has been remarkably tight-lipped so far.
This is probably because in every interview he has had a chaperone, such as Benedict Cumberbatch, to keep him quiet. From the trailers we have seen, however, there is a lot we can assume we will see. It seems that Doctor Strange’s timeline manipulation will come with a whole host of unforeseen (even by him) consequences that are going to give filmgoers one heck of a ride in this movie.
The trailers don’t tell us much about the storyline, but they do show us that our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is going to face many foes in this movie. The Green Goblin looks like he is going to be the main bad guy in the film, but there is also Doctor Octopus and Electro to contend with as well as The Sandman. Who can Spidey call on for help? That leads us to the biggest rumour floating around the internet about the film.

How Many Spider-Men are in this film?
Very early on in this production rumours began to circulate that this film would feature not just one, but three Spider-Men!
We know the storyline introduces ‘The Multiverse’ into this phase of the Marvel films, which will no doubt lead to all kinds of shenanigans later in the series. The big rumour for this film is that it will also feature Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their versions of Spider-Man from the previously released films, and all three Spideys will have to come together to vanquish the many foes in the film. Though both Maguire and Garfield have played down these rumours, they have both been spotted on set during filming.
Is the MCU Spider-Man series going to end with a big bang and show three Spider-Men web-slinging together? Get yourself to the cinema this Christmas to find out - we are definitely going to be there!
